Christa Seric Geiger Prize awarded to Sabine Trepte [12.03.25]
Professor Sabine Trepte’s research on social media was honored with the Christa Seric Geiger Award.
Sabine Trepte received the Christa Seric Geiger Prize, endowed with 20,000 euros, for her research in the field of social media. The Carl-Friedrich Geiger Foundation nominated Sabine Trepte for this prize and selected her from six other candidates. The jury was impressed by her commitment to research, teaching and public relations work in the field of social media.
The prize was awarded on March 8, 2025 - International Women's Day - at the Kulturhaus Kehl. The laudator was Professor Nicole Krämer.
The Carl-Friedrich Geiger Foundation supports organizations in science, research, education, art and culture, medicine and animal welfare. The foundation's purpose also includes promoting equal rights for women and men. Since 2021, the Carl-Friedrich Geiger Foundation has awarded the Christa Seric-Geiger Prize, named after the founder. This prize recognizes women who achieve outstanding results.
