Ruben Renz, M.A.

Research Associate

 

Ruben Renz has been a research assistant at the Department of Media Psychology since January 2024. He previously studied Communication Science in the Bachelor's program and Communication Management and Analysis in the Master's program at the University of Hohenheim. As part of his Master's thesis "Allong the watchbrowser - Promoting privacy skills of young people's handling of internet trackers", he deals with online privacy behavior. Since joining the Institute, he has been leading the DFG project "Political online microtargeting in the context of the 2024 European elections: Attitudes, knowledge, participation, privacy" in cooperation with the University of Mainz.

From 2019 to 2023, Ruben Renz worked at the Fraunhofer Institute in Stuttgart as a student assistant, focusing on developing digital tools for administrations and municipalities. His responsibilities also included contributing to the future-oriented urban design of various smart cities in Baden-Württemberg and Hessen.
