Transformations of Privacy

The project "Transformations of privacy" is funded by the Volkswagen foundation and analyses how the change in the structure of privacy affects freedom, democracy, and overall our information society. The project is interdisciplinary and the following four disciplines are contributing to the project: political theory, law, information science, and communication science.

Our project deals with the question of how privacy is managed in online and social media, how users try to satisfy the needs for self-disclosure and privacy at the same time, how communication partners negotiate their risks and benefits, and how this affects the attitudes towards privacy both in online communication and in general.

For more information, please see the project's website.
