True crime formats fascinate recipients of podcasts and series. These formats allow us to participate, empathize and think over a crime to a special degree. The fact that a true crime is the subject of discussion is both gripping and frightening. Increasingly, true crimes are also being discussed on social media - as in the recent case of Gabby Petito, a U.S. blogger who was killed. Petito's followers became detectives - they tried to solve her disappearance during a vacation with her fiancé and ultimately analyze the question of guilt of her murder with clues via social media.
