We are at the “Digital Week” in Kiel! [13.09.20]
At the „Digital Week” in Kiel Johanna Schäwel discusses the relation between the usage of social media and users’ well-being.
Social media connect, entertain and inform. They are part of everyday life and can influence the perception of the self and the social environment. As part of the "Digital Week Kiel" (05.09.-13.09.2020), potential effects of the use of social media on the mental health and well-being of users will be addressed. Among others: Do social media pose a threat to mental health? Do social media increase the urge for self-disclosure and self-presentation? Johanna Schäwel will discuss these questions and present current research findings to show that social media are not as dangerous as many people think. The event can be followed live on the online platform www.kiel.live.
