How does TikTok actually work? Talk at the University open day [12.06.24]
On 29.06.2024, Prof. Dr. Sabine Trepte will give two talks at the University of Hohenheim's open day on the topic “How does TikTok actually work? Opportunities, risks, revenue models and algorithms“.
TikTok is one of the most used social media plattforms in Germany. 20 Millon Germans use TikTok every month. And never before has a social media plattform been attested such a pull. In an interactive talk at the open day, Sabine Trepte will present the most successful content on TikTok, look at who uses TikTok for how long and how much, what positive and negative effects its use can have and how people earn money with TikTok. The talk might not reveal the well-kept secrets oft he TikTok algorithmus but it will provide some exciting insights that may help you look at your For-You-Page in a more nuanced way.
The talk will take place at 12:00 and 15:00 in the Balcony Room at Hohenheim Palace. Each session will last 45 minutes. You can find more information and a map on the official open day page.
